Dingyong Hou
He is currently the Task Team Leader for the Secondary Education Modernization Project and former TTL of Technical and Vocational Education Modernization Project in the Republic of Kazakhstan that closed in 2015 and the Education Team Leader for the Bank’s education programme in Kyrgyz Republic responsible for policy advice and lending in education. Prior to this assignment, he was the Education Sector Leader for the Philippines and Task Team Leader for policy advice and lending in China, Republic of Korea and Indonesia in the East Asia and Pacific Region. He has worked on a wide range of issues from basic to tertiary education, skills development, labor market and employment issues. Prior to joining the World Bank, he worked in government and private sector on education in China and Canada. He holds degrees in economics and education from Chinese and Canadian universities.
