Strategies of parent engagement in education and student participation in extracurricular education

Parent participation in education and extracurricular activities is key to ensure student participation and their academic achievement. However, different strategies used by the parents will inevitably lead to different consequences, as all of them are not equally productive. Some forms of parent participation stimulate adolescent participation in extracurricular activities, while others can lead to a decrease in their motivation. This seminar will explore the theoretical approaches to establishing typological models of parent participation in education and will present the results of empirical studies aimed at understanding the links between forms of parent engagement in education and student participation in extracurricular education.
