Romy Noordhof

Romy is Head of Prototypes at CitoLab, a multidisciplinary innovation team that focuses on the development of prototypes for educational measurement. Romy collaborates with stakeholders from primary, secondary and vocational education. With a background as an educational and assessment expert, Romy conducts design research into innovative testing methods. With her team and in close contact with students and teachers she develops prototypes for the education of the future. Prior to this, Romy worked for Cito as an assessment expert for the national vocational exams and provided training in assessment for higher professional education.

Educational measurement of non-cognitive skills

In education, non-cognitive skills are receiving more and more attention in the curricula. These skills have many different names such as 21st century skills or broad skills. What these skills have in common is that we believe that students will need these skills in professions and jobs of the future. The innovation department of the Cito Foundation developed prototypes for such skills. In this session, Romy Noordhof will give you demonstrations of prototypes that focus on citizenship, collaboration, personality traits, and emphatic behaviour’. What kind of tools are meaningful if an answer isn’t necessarily right or wrong?
